Is it any less? If not then it makes no sense to ever turn it off.

If you are low on cash and want to keep your harvester you should be able to turn it off and not lose money.

Harvesters are a mid-level, beginning to set up a supply chain. They are not meant to make it so the novice artisan can not work anymore. You should be able to earn enough doing deliver missions to power your 2 harvesters and one generator for a whole day in under an hour. If you want to have the versatility to follow a resource change, or run many harvesters, your first step would be to start building an income base. Regular clients, etc.

Being an artisan is easy. Being a good artisan who can stay on top of it and keep going is not.

If you are low on money and you still have a little bit of maintenence pool money left in your harvester (IE its still at 100% condition), simply destroy it and reclaim the deed.

It is no less, and it makes no sense to turn a harvester that's pulling in a good material off.

Holo said that maintenance and power consumption while turned off is a BUG. So expect this to change: eventually you'll be able to turn off your harvesters or factories and NOT be charged power or maintenance.

Force, you can't reclaim the deed unless the money in the harvestor exceeds something like 3k (varies I think). So if you are low on money, you have no choice but to let it die, or get more cash quickly.

The money left on maintenance must be 1500 or more for harvesters, and 3000 or more for windmills.

Basically it's a waste of money unless you happened to put that much cash in it and suddenly resources moved, or in the emergency case I had last night where I needed to move my wind gen and just didn't have enough resources to build a new one. Cost me 3000 to move it and 1000 to deposit into maintenance. I think you should get some of that back, or it should be lowered.

There's just no incentive to move something unelss you overdeposited.

It's not a waste of money anymore considering the soon to be skyrocketing costs of resources and the fact that a single destroy mission will easily cover the costs of a single reclaim (assuming you don't have repair fees) I'm just glad I always kept mine repaired, now I can reclaim them and wait for the fees-and-power-consumption-while-turned-off bug fix. All I can say to those that are looking at the huge repair fees is, gambling on an unsuresystem can sometimes burn you.

Although, I do agree that you should AT LEAST get the deposited power back when you reclaim.

I think you should be able to carry maint and power over to the deed. So when reclaimed and moved, the power and maint. fees shouldn't be lost. What happens when you set up your new harvester, pay up for a few days because you are going out of town, and come back to find that they cycled the resouces 5 minutes after you logged?
