When you first start off surveying, you only have one choice for range in your survey tool. As you move up in Survey levels, your devices can work in larger "ranges". If you can use higher ranges, is there any reason not to? Are they less accurate than using a smaller field? Do smaller fields find more types of resources?

Or should I just crank it up to the highest setting and let it rip all the time?

The only thing I have noticed is that the Point cost per survey goes up as the range does.. Which is no big deal. So I keep them all set at Max range.. Since I have Surveying 4...
