Thread: Is anyone else feeling the effects of the suffering economy??
Is it just me or is this economy really suffering....
I have been an artisan since realease, but i decided once I hit survey and engineering 4 that I would be a miner for awhile selling resources. I think this has turned out to be a bad idea. A friend of mine did the same. He got his sales on the market one day ahead of mine. He made over 130K in about 24 hours. 2-3 days later, I am still struggling to break even. Why? I can see a couple of reasons: 1) He consistantly uses his macro to mine on a repeating loop. He has mined thousands upon thousands of resources with his only overhead being the fees for the bazaar. Pure profit for him. I cannot hold connection long enough to macro therefore I have to use harvesters annd have a largeroverhead.Idon't have anyway to change this... my fate as an artisan has been determined becausemy cost of business will always be higher than those who can macro effectively. 2) There are so many people selling resources on the bazaar and everyone is trying to undercut the prices of others. The economy cannot support this many artisans. Three days ago I could sell 250 Units of fiberplast for 2500 - 3000 now its a struggle to sell it for 1000 - 1500. If we as artisans as a whole want to change this so-called player-run economy we can... but its up to all of us artisans and surveyors to contribute to the effort.
I bought SWG for the sole purpose of being a merchant. I got in game and being a miner intrigued me... please let me know if i am the only one who sees the flaws in this struggling economy or if this is a common concern that we need to address as an artisan community...
