Thread: Factory Restrictions == Bah.
Well, I now got my wearables factory. Fine. First of all, it's **edit** slow. I could churn out 100 synth clothes in a fraction of the time, maybe not identical ones, but it's not the point yet. So I got a factory to do that, which is SLOW. I can live with that. However what I can't live with is the range restriction imposed. You need to be within a 1km radius or diameter (as I've been told) to gain the XP from it. Now I think that's stupid. If you even think of leaving that radius you're throwing away an income of XP. Well I can't stand next to my factory all the freakin' day. So either I stand next to it and gain a bit of XP and do nothing, or I go out in the world and gain even less XP by crafting some items to fill the demand. (Mind you, I try not to grind).
I think the range restriction should be removed, so people can move freely. Factories are already slow enough and require maintenance money and power, so I don't think it's asked too much.
Try building a house right next door to the factory, put a crafting station in there, and stay right by the factory while you still craft other items....

There is one of the issues. The PA powered supergrinder hogs next to the factories, earns the XP from them and from the stuff he grinds.
The casual gamer like me is running around to get the resources together, crafting stuff, trying to get it to the people and all, not being able to stay next to the factory. In short, we get screwed over royal.
The range restriction needs to fall.
