Troops hi

Considering purchasing my own Clothing & Armour crafting station and can see a variation in their functionality rating from -8 to 3.

I can't find any guidance re these, so which end of the scale is better. I'm master armoursmith if that makes a difference.

Actually, they go a lot higher and lower I have some 44 point stations. Generally, they don't make a huge difference but, combined with your crafting tool, improve your chances of amazing success etc.

Crafting stations will not increase your experimentation points but they will decrease your failure rate (or so I have been told). I am not sure how much influence the station has, but I do seem to craft with fewer bad results when I use my +22 station. The most useful thing about having a station in your house is being able to craft in peace, and access to the higher complexity schematics.

As for cost there seems to be a wide range, but a rule of thumb is about 5k-10k for less than 10 rating and then +1-2k per plus for over 10 ratings.

45 is the theoretical max, but a 30+ you should be fine. If you're in a crafting city and have an inspiration buff you really dont have to worry about failures.

I don't know about armour, but the station rating does matter for architects. It's very difficult to get the maximum BER on medium and heavy harvesters without a 40+ crafting station. If you're going to be making clothing, it's definately not an issue, but you might want to check with the armoursmith forum if your going to be making armour.
