Thread: Tool and Station %... How does it effect anything?

Someone help me out here...

WHAT DOES THE % RATING ON THE CRAFTING TOOLS AND STATIONS MEAN???

Iwas under the assumption thatthe% on the tools and crafting stations effect the critical failure rate.

I don't know whatthe actual % is "in-game" since I can't decode source codes, but I am assuming that there is a set critical failure rate.

For argument sakes, let's say the default critical rate is 10%.

I am assuming that using a 10% tool and 40% station, you can decrease your critical failure rate by 10+40=50%.

Meaning 50% of 10% equals a new 5% critical failure rate.

However, I've been getting mixed results and reviews on this and was wondering what the figures actually mean. I personally use 15% tools and42% stations but the outcome varies so much that I can't tell.

This is just a theory and I was wondering if anyone could correct me here.

Thanks,

The % rating of your tools and crafting stations affect the overall quality of your products and hence also you critical failure rate. The higher % tool and/or crafting station you have the higher quality product you can make. You will also have a lower ratio of critical failures and a higher ratio of amazing successes.

Best example now in game is the experimentation on vehicles. The difference between a 98% vehicle and 92% vehicle would be the quality of materials and the quality of tools/crafting stations used.

I went from negative value tools and stations to 15.00 tools and 42.xx value stations and I see absolutely no difference in crafting results.

When I changed to a 43% personal crafting station from Padre (free advertising Padre hehe), I noticed a big difference in less critical failures. Makes a difference on loss of materials for sure lol. Anyhoo worked for me.

Anyone know the highest effeciency a personal crafting station can be?

The highest I've seen is +44. I've heard they max at either +45 or +50, although without 1000 conductivity (and maybe other stats), and exceptional subcomponents you probably won't see those.

Thanks for the info,

Yes, I figured the criticals would change, but never really thought the about the lowered % being transfered to the amazings...

I'll check it out later.

The material has the only effect on the maximum your components can go. To keep it simple,if a component takes a single material and the key stat is the conductivity, then using 880 conductivity material will max your component at a 88% experimentation level. A 990 conductive material will max you experimental level to 99% and so forth.

What I have noticed is the higher % Stations and tools will allow you to have more amazing andgreat successesand less critical failures. Both of these insure you get the most out of the material you use.

The added advantage is that with amazing successes you can max out your experimentation % and still have experimentation points left over. This is an advantage when you have multiple areas to experiment in.

Example: Harvesters

You can experiment the harvesting rate up to 13 and have more experimentation points to increase the hopper capacity

Example: food

you can max the effectiveness of the food and have more points left for flavor or quantity

Extremely good point.

Thanks
