Can someone explain to me how they work? I can't equip or install them on my gun, do they give the boost from just sitting in the inventory? if so, is it possible to get 2 of something and have them stack?

Nope you can only have 1 power up per weapon =( but all you have to do is drag it over the weapon and drop it and it will take affect. Hope that helps

I've been playing around with these since I started crafting, all you do is pick up the "powerup" item in your inventory screen and then drop it on the weapon you want to powerup in your inventory screen. When you are buying one you'll want to examine what it does, not all powerups are great, look for the ones that increase damage or wound chance I think those are the best. Powerups only have 100 charges, so they do need to be replaced from time to time. As far as them stacking I haven't tried that yet, I will try that when I get back on today. Seems like one could stack four of them though since there are four different powerups that I've seen thus far, like muzzle and grip and a couple of others I can make so far.

Weapon powerups do not stack.

Also, it seems that they are a bit random in thier "powerup" stats. I crafted two Grips and ended up with two different powerups. An "Ergonomic Grip" and the other one was some name I dont recall.

So different types of powerups will give different stats? Like I've noticed muzzle gives damage percent increase and wound percent chance increases, so do the other ones give different increases? If not, why is there a need for four different types of powerups?

You should examine them closely before buying or selling, as some seem to be detremental. I've made some that added mind cost, slowed the weapon down, or just plain didn't make a difference.

P.S. Sorry for all the crappy powerups I put on the Bizaar. I will remove them today.

An option to examine items before you place them for sale would be nice. Some weapons are better than others and you have no idea which is which.

Power ups dont stack unfortunately. They also degenerate at a pretty good rate, so it's a good idea to have one or two on hand in case the first one fails. The reason that there are so widely varied stat changes are due in large part to the types of materials that were used in creating the item. Since there are soooo many different combinations of resources that can be used, a lot of us artisans are just messing with it trying to get a feel for the best combinations, best stat advantages, etc. Of course at this point I really don't know how something will turn out until after I've made it. Some powerups are pretty much worthless and are of low quality, and it all goes back to the materials I used to build them. As a side note, I've found that using steels and carbonate minerals seem to produce better powerups than using irons and silisclastics. Wow, this is going to take me forever to figure out! Hope this helps.

Another thing that seems to effect the outcome is the level of success that you achieve when you make the powerup. The same materials will yield a different powerup if hte succes is greater. For example, if your item is a "success" when creating you might get a "muted muzzle", while if it is a "great success" you will get a "muted muzzle of flashing". The latter having diffferent mods.

Aye, I noted the naming thing too. Thanks for picking up on that. I think it has to do also with the skill of the crafter and the type of crafting item that you are using. Using the specific crafting tool (i.e., Weapons, Droid, Generic kit for weapons) appears to produce a better quality of weapon, although I'm still experimenting with that aspect. I don't even use the Generic Crafting tool anymore and have crafted my own specific crafting tools.

Could someone explain to me what the various benefits are to the various ranged weapon powerups. I know there is:

Muzzle

Scope

Barrel

Grip

Coupler

Also I notice that the names of these items changed based upon the success rate during crafting. I'm working towards becoming a weaponsmith and I've made these items already and placed them on weapons. But it would be nice to know a bit more about what each of them actually does. So, for those in the know could you please shed some light on this subject for me please.

Thanks,

Examine them after you make them and it will tell you what it effects.

The powerup system is a pain in the arse if you ask me, atleast from a crafters perspective. Each of your list have a variety of possible outcomes from your crafting attempt, each effecting different things in different combinations. The pain is that it seems completely random.

Yesterday I wanted some powerups that decreased my speed. So I made a few of each till I found the ones that did that, grip and coupler I believe. With the exact same supplies with making about 10 of each I got 4 that were of the type I wanted. I then went over the the crafting station and experimented to get ones of better result. I made well over 150 between the two types and recieved only 2 that did what I wanted, and one of those was of moderate quality. By the end of 150 I was frustrated and pissed off.

Tonight I am going to try again and instead make schematics instead of a protype. I am 'hoping' that the schmatic will say its name, so I can just keep going until I get what I want then walk over to my factory and make a pile of those ones.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I've noticed the randomness just based on the names that are generated, one try I get a smoothbore barrel, next I get a tapered barrel...
