Why is it after over 75 attempts I am unable to craft a min/max pup, but have created every other conceivable type? Materials being usedare 992 OQ mineral, and 998 OQ chemical.

Which kind are you making? Melee or ranged? If ranged, which type ofranged powerup are you making?

Min/Max or Max/Min? You can't get Min/Max, but Max/Min you can by making Muzzles.

Muzzles are the only type of powerup that can have max/min damage modifiers. I managed to get one after about 25 attempts the other night. It just takes patience.

Yeah, the elusive max/min muzzle comes up about once every 30 to 50 attempts. I was so mad the other night, because the first two times I did get it, I also got moderate successes on experimentation. My advice... when you get it and the experimentation goes well... set the schematic for as many as you have material for.

According to my calculations, you should be able to get a a min/max muzzle about 6% of the time. (0.25 * 0.25). That's just over 1 in 20, but there could be other factors at work that skew the numbers to one of the other possible outcomes.

Out of interest has anyone beaten 5 different mods on a power up?

I wish they would let you choose which type you want to make. I mean you don't find weaponsmiths crafting a pistol to find out they actually crafted a rifle. I can't think of a good reason why we can't pick which we want? Can anyone make a case for the way it is now? Or do most of us agree we should be able to choose?

For the same reason you can't pick which type of slice you want... it would be too nice. The system in place now creates a resource sink where a lot of crafting attempts become throw-aways for combos that nobody seems to want... and for the slicing it is even more pronounced. A lot of expensive composite pieces become unwearable garbage when they don't get encumbrance slices, and that becomes both a resource and a money sink. Is the slicing ratio 50/50 on composite in your galaxy? It should be interesting indeed to see what affect the crackdown has on the composite armor industry.

I hope they dont change it. Then every Tom, **edit** and Harry who has Artisan can make good powerups at will. Right now it is too time consuming to get good powerups for someone not committed to make a viable business of selling powerups.
The people who make good powerups do so because they are committed to it. Powerups take very little resources and are probably the least complicated thing to make in the game. If we can choose at will what to make, the Artisans who sell powerups as a business will go right down the tubes.
The market would be flooded with high quality powerups and the price would drop.
Just my humble opinion

What is a good price guide for selling them - e.g. +15% speed +30% min damage (ranged)?
