Thread: 2 Artisan questions

Ok, I've been at this Master Artisan thing a while but I still haven't cumulated enough tapes to get +10on Artisan Exp . So yesterday, I bought some food or drink (cant remember which) and it gives a +10 to artisan experimentation. Should my experimentation points be 11 when experimenting with a plus 10 bonus, or will it stay at +10? I tried some schematics with the food/drink and without it and it seems I got the same result (about 97% schematics for powerups), although I was kinda buzzed when I got around to checking it out.

Also, has anyone dropped four +Artisan Experimentation skill tapes on clothing at once and not had it count one or more of the tapes? I lost out on a +4 I spent 800,000 on when I dropped it and 3 other tapes on some pants, and Sony has refused to help me giving me the same, "Were blah blah sorry blah blah blah nothing we can do blah blah blah" story.

Thanks for your time.

Bespin Port (the +experimentation drink) doesn't affect your experimentation skill or give more points. What it does is makes the next experiment roll come out more in favor of "great" or "amazing" success. Reports have been iffy on how much of a difference it makes, but most people have said that in the long run it does lead to better successes, especially for non-Master crafters, since they have lower experimentation skill (where "moderate" or just "success" comes up more often).

As for the tapes, you cannot currently stack multiple tapes with the same bonus onto the same piece of clothing. It will only keep the highest bonus, so four +1 tapes will end up with only +1 at the end. I haven't heard anything official about whether or not this is being fixed. Although the SEA friday feature a few weeks ago said that you should be able to stack tapes, at least up to some single-piece cap. Here's hoping that when/if this does get fixed, clothing will remember all the tapes put into it, and show the correct stacked bonus.

Sorry for your loss, but CSRs can't/won't do anything about it.

Thanks for your reply.

The question that comes to mind now is if and when I actually get the Experimentation points should I expect to see 11 exp points while crafting?

And on the Port, do you consider that a design flaw since obviously its misleading?

Thanks again,

Yes. Though it won't really affect any items you craft that have a single line of experimentation as you will max out the line anyhow. The extra point(s) is/are usually used in products with multiple lines of experimentation. For example a Doctor could put that extra point into charges to produce stims with more uses than someone who crafted without the extra point(s), or a Weaponsmith could craft extra condition into a gun.
