I've had the game for about a week now and the Droid Engineer is what I really want to do. Please tell me a good step by step process for starting Artisans going the engineering tree for making money and gaining xp..I've tried and it seems no one wants to buy any of my items I have crafted. Also is there an easier way of surveying than running all over the planet? Any help will be appreciated

store up resources, make the most complex items you can, experiment and practice. It's also VERY helpfull to suffer through to survey 4, and easy.

Well i think you should buy some steel and make Survival knives for novice.(Survivals in practice is like 40xp).Once you get to Engineering 3 you should start to build Wind Generators which give 500xp which is pretty good! Then you can grind those until Novice Droid Engineer.Hope that helps!

so far so good but whats the fastest way to make cred from the get go. No one seems to ever buy anything of mine..? Missions? surveying missions? Everytime I try one of those it won't even tell me what resource I'm looking for

sell powerups, for right now though sell some of your resources, go to coronet or theed and sell reasonable, you'll sell stuff.

This game, at least on my server, focuses on things a Master Artisan or Arch, Droid Engineer, Armorsmith, etc. can make. Sell the things mentioned above, and try some fireworks. put a few on the bazaar and see if they sell, they should. Most people like to blow things up and fireworks are just the thing for it.

try the artisan crafting missions between Anchorhead and Bestine, they pay 900 credits each and you can ride a vehicle between them in a couple of minutes. you get a little crafting xp as well although it isnt much.

Fastest way to accumulate wealth: Harvesters. Get a wind generator and three to five mineral harvesters, set them up, and harvest whatever is at the highest concentration where you set them up. (You can use your surveying skills to decide where to set them up, or just plonk them down wherever its convenient) Then sell the resources you mine on the bazaar. Currently, stuff will usually sell at 2.5cpu to 3cpu, depending on its stats. You will need to have your harvesters in hand, and about 10k in cash, to start this, and set the wind harvester up a few days before the mineral harvesters, to build up a stock of power...When you buy your harvesters, make sure to pay attention to the base extraction rate. Low is bad, high is good. Six or seven is high. When whatever you were harvesting depletes, you will have to decide: Find a different location (costs 1500cred per harvester, and 3000 cred per wind machine) or switch to a different resource in the same spot (you take your chances that there might not be anything good at that spot for a few days.)
I started this in August. By Christmas, I had over 700k in the bank... and thats without using ANY skills, or crafting anything. I could have been a lot richer, If I had supplemented my resource business with crafting stuff like vehicles, or selling skill tapes (looted from caves on the advanced planets-- those things sometimes sell for millions each...)
Lately my resource business has been going down hill, so I've been reducing the price per unit, and using a lot of what I harvest to grind DE (takes lots of steel and fiberplast) I'm back below 600k at the moment, butthis is, without doubt, the fastest way to make money for someone who doesn't have the advanced skills yet.

take a look at what others are selling that item for and go from there, I generally sell my powerups for 400cr, But I'm a 4/4/4/4 artisan. It all depends on the economy of your server, try prices out and see what is good to settle on. By the way, I never have a problem selling my non-elite crafter stuff.

I've only been playing for 3 1/2 weeks myself but here is what I did.Start at the shuttle port of the city you are in and head to an open area nearby.survey for gas and metal until you locate a concentration above 63% and set a waypoint marker.go to the shuttle and get a round trip ticket to the nearest city and find an artisian mission terminal.Look for the highest paying jobs for the resource you found (810-900 credits). If you use the details box it will tell you what you're suppossed to be looking for and use the refresh button to get another gruop of missions until you find the one you need.Take the shuttle back,go to your waypoint and survey the resource and collect your money.Even with the shuttle cost you can still make about 1400 credits per runand if you have a resource concentration near the shuttle in each city you can make lots of money fast with little chance of being attacked. As far as selling things goes, the only crafted items I manage to sell are stimpacks which require medic skills to make(I think).Your best bet at selling is selling resources.Crafters will buy the good stuff and grinders will buy the lower quality stuff.Hope this helps.
