I have a wind survey tool snd when i use it and then try to sample I dont get anything, it just says i need to put a generator down. Problem is I cant find a generator anywhere, where can I get one from?

A Wind Survey Tool is only used to find a Good spot to put down a Wind Collector which makes power that can be used for harvesters,ect.
It Does not do any sampling, there is also another tool thats the same way...ambient Solar heat or something like that, It also just finds good spots to put a Harvester down it doesnt do any sampling.
Those are the only 2 I believe that are that way.

Okay, I have looked through the threads and found many macros for Sampling however, one question -
What happens when the resource runs out? So far I have only ever done sampling manually and by the second time I try and take a sample I fail (meaning no exp points!) Even when I find a spot with high density of the chosen sample I can't seem to succeed more than 2 or 3 times!
How will a macro help gain the much needed exp if you keep failing?

The resource doesn't run out per-se. Every time you sample, there's a chance that you won't pull anything. Just keep going. The resource won't actually disappear for about 10 days or so.
