I was wondering if anyone else out there is making artisan foods and the quality that everyone's getting. Is anyone else using BE additives? Whats the stats on those?
Right now I'm focusing mainly on exo-protien. Jedi love this stuff. They see a bigger benefit than normal folk because of the lack of armor. But, I'm also playing around with caf, crispic and duste crepe.

Don't forget Travel Biscuits. With a decent BE micronutrient (which really help getting the foods to a usable level), you can get +15-18 terrain negotiation, a gain roughly equivalent to 3/4 of a box of Exploration without spending the skill points.
Jawa Beer is also apparently big with BEs since they have to do a lot of sneaking around to get their DNA samples. You can see if you can get a deal going with a Novice chef to buy casks to bump up the beer's stack size.

Ya I'm playing with the travel biscuits, but the exo-protien seems like the hot item. And nice idea with the casks. I might have to talk to a chef about a schematic

The wafers sell reasonably well for me; I rename them "SyntheSteak Lite". 25-27% damage reduction (Micronutrient 51 to 53) for 15-18 attacks doesn't look like much next to real Synthsteak, but that "only 5 filling!" makes them saleable. I sell them at 1500cr each or 6k for a 4-pak on the Coronet bazaar.

ah cool. Last full batch I ran was 20% for 22 attacks. This next batch I run, thanks to new meat and hide spawns and an extra experimentation point, will be 25% for 20 attacks. And yes.. the 5 filling makes it a great utlity food

I haven't really gotten into the foods, but I think I will branch out into that sometime soon, some of the foods sound worth while...

Ruby Bliel would be an artisan's gold mine if they would ever fix it.

thats the entertainer food isn't it?
No, it's supposed toreduce the wait time between healing damage/wounds, buffing or CM medicine/poison launching. Basically a lower-power version of Havla (but a lot easier to make and much lower filling). The problem is that the recovery time bonus just doesn't work unless you get it above 100, which requires Havla and a medium BE additive, leaving Ruby Bliel a worthless drink.
I have seen some reports of Havla-buffed medics/docs/CMs seeing some weirdness regarding heal timers. So maybethe healrecovery bonusgot fixed, but goes wacky when you get it above 100 (what everyone is most likelyusing). I'll have to check that out when I get on tonight.

I like Teltier Noodles. I can get them to last nearly an hour and they really help with sampling continuesly. I suppose they could even be macro'ed in as well. Good for unbuffed pistoleers too.

I noticed some really nice foods in the Artsian tree and they all use artsian exp. (not chef)
I think that's cool and might even start making them. Master BE / Master Artsian -anyone?

I'm actually a master chef with artisan 4-4-4-0, and I've been making the artisan foods with a lot of success. If/when you manage to procure +13 (or +14 if you're human, as I am) experimentation points, the foods can have a beautiful duration on them and work really well in combination with the higher buff/shorter duration chef foods.
