Thread: Creature Habitat??? What is this???

I am a MCH and I see that artisans have this schematic I am highly interested in know what this does. thank you

It sounds cooler than it is.
You open it and whatever little flying creatures it has inside fly away in a swarm.
Kinda like fireworks but closer to the ground and less sparkly.

What Elyssa said with a few additional comments:



  • Once you release the creatures the creature habitat actually disappears. So it is literally a one use item. Also, anyone in your house can release your creatures, so if your house is open to the public there's always the chance that you'll find your creature habitat missing.

  • The creature habitat looks exactly like a locked container, so they're not really that great for display purposes in my opinion.

I had forgotten that anyone in your house can release them.

Also, they take their default name when you craft them so you can't even use them for custom named canister things.

If you need custom named canisters, you might ask a chef to build you a barrel.
They take some resources from Master Artisan though, so not every chef can build them (they're bugged, don't work, so noone uses them), and might not be cheap.

If we want Creature Habitats to be made more useful/effective/interesting, wejust need tosuggesthow they could be used in combat.

hehe, when you open up the creature habitat make it release the creatures inside (CL determined by the BE in construction by using DNA samples), this would release "wild" creatures that would be similar to the Pirate Trap for privateer pilots, attacking anything nearby including the one that released them. Since it is an uncontrollable creature I would also suggest that this would be a possible use for those potential creatures that have a much higher level than can ever be controlled, and by them being wild creatures it wouldn't be unbalancing as they are just as likely to attack the original owner as they are the intended target. I think it would be fun at least . It would be even more fun if you couldn't see the stats on the containers lol, that way it's a surprise to everyone when they release a CL 250 Durni .
