Hey,
Here's the deal:
To mass produce swoops you'll need:
1) Sufficient resources for the entire factory run. You _must_ use the same exact resources in the factory that you use to create the schematic. Don't forget that the schematic will consume one swoop bike's worth of resources
2) Create the schematic:
- Use a Weapon/Droid/General (WDG) crafting tool at a Weapon/Droid/General crafting station.
- Craft a swoop using your bulk resources, however, do not create a prototype
- After experimentation, you will be prompted to create a prototype or create a manufacturing schematic. Select Manufacturing schematic
- Set the name of the product and the number of bikes to make in the run (use the number you wanted when you assembled your resources)
- Save the schematic. The schematic will be stored in your datapad.
3) Go to a Equiment factory you have rights to
- Ensure it has sufficient maintenance and power
- Ensure it has sufficient room in the output hopper
- Put the resources in the input hopper
- From the Factory's radial menu, pull up the schematic interface
- Add the swoop schematic from your datapad
- Start the factory from the radial menu
4) wait.
If you did everything right, it will start making swoops. If there are any problems, the owner of the factory (the person who placed it) will get an e-mail. When the job is done, the owner will get an e-mail.
You can double click the factory to see how far along it is in the run.
You can stop the factory, remove the bikes completed thus far, and restart it, if so desired.
This procedure will work for any factory and any item, just substitute the correct tool and station for WDG.
Hope this helps,
Guru

The factories will produce the swoops in crates with a maximum count of 50 swoops per crate.

urm... you don't need to stop the factory to access the output hopper.... that's the default action for that branch of the factory radial menu -- if youleave your mouse pointer on the branch tab anddon't select an option from the drop-down list (which would only be "stop factory"), it opens the output hopper
(sorry, posting from work, so I don't recall off-hand what the label is on that tab)

1k swoops = 1.6 mil units of a non-ferrous metal and 6.4 mil units of a ferrous metal. (it may be the other way around, sorry at work atm.)
either way you'll need a bunch of resources. get an alt and drop 19 harvesters, split them up between the 2 different resources. Become Uber harvester.
lol.
