Thread: Camo for the masses! Call your local Ranger!
Pleased? BS.
We have been completely replaced, and here is the documentation to prove it
- Camo:
Riflemen Cover, Jedi Force Cloak, anyone with a Ranger buddy to make 'em for them
- Mask Scent:
See above
- Creature Harvesting:
Harvesting droids, packs oflow-level scouts with Veghash, creature-harvesting attachments
- Rescue:
"Pass-through assist." See tuesday's tips for this description.
- Traps:
Every profession getting "mezzing" and"snaring" effects.
- Camps:
Pfft, no one gets wounded anymore, and that's all they are good for anyways.
- Terrain Negotiation:
Attachments, BE tissues, Chef Food: Travel Biscuit, other professions with the same modifier.
- Creature Knowledge:
Everyone sees the same f'ing things now!
- Creature to-Hit bonus:
Chef Food: Gralynin Juice
- Creature to-damage bonus:
Why do we even bother anymore? Seriously. Consider this list. This is a problem.
It hurts seeing stuff you wanted for 2 years going to other professions and the few things that you have distrubuted among them as well.
But I think its a bit unfair to blame the crafters for this, just because in the patchnotes it was noted under the "Crafters" section. Yes it will help crafters, but also other people will use the Camo kits.

We will be happy to supply hand craftedkits tothose of youthat need them in the short term. Many of you may also not be aware that there is a different camo kit schematic for each planet and that the resources for each kit are planet specific. For instance, Dathomirian camo kits can only be made from resources hunted on Dathomir. We willshortly all bestarting up harvesting operations to collect the necessary componetsbut it will take a few days.
And to all the crafters of Sunrunner, please be patient while Fulton creates his next ranger on our server because I'm way too jaded to pay people tohelp mego out to get the organic resources needed to create camo kits that you can use to go get resources by yourself.
Also be especially patient while the effectiveness of these camo kits is adjusted to be worth any amount of credits. As a Master Ranger I used 4 kits for a round trip between the science outpost and the village. Let's hope yours are more effective by the time Fulton can be here crafting them for you.
omg, Fulton does not even represent half the ranger community on this. i'd say maybe 5% of rangers like this new idea.
Oh, and i wont be selling cammo kits to a single soul. I will not support further bastardization of The Most Expensive Profession in the game.

I want to apologize to the Artisans here that Fulton brings this pile of BS to your forum....
And also please note the amount of posts Mr FultonMeigs has compared to the so called "junior"........
Then decide for yourselves who junior is...

I would like to close this thread, with a statement. It is quite lengthy, but the people who play RPGs in general havea considerable amount of patience.
I do not know what to say.
I will become bitter. I can guarantee that, and I apoligize for that now. Why are we being phased out months before our revamp? Assuming that anything, even 20 years, can be measured in months.
The only ray of hope left, is that our profession will be wiped clean and become everything in the "outdoorsman" proposal. That is highly unlikely, but it is all I have left. Like a small child coming in from an immigration ship in New York, cluthing a small hand-made doll. Tattered by use over the years, but it still holds the memories that the child wishes to remember.
I will not track for anyone. I will not hunt for anyone. I will not camo for anyone. I will not kill for anyone.
People complain about the power of mezzing and rooting, and I have to apoligize because that was our ability that got dished out to everyone else. I have to apoligize for the Devs, because that ability would not have even been in the game if it wasn't for our traps.
I will not drop Master Ranger. I will always be a Ranger at heart. I am also a masochist, by the opinions of others. I have had 850 crashes to the desktop in my 4 months of this game. I have gone long periods without being able to use my datapad, because I would CTD every time that I would open it. The same thing happened, for a brief time, with my Inventory. I can take pain, because I also have a knack for dishing it out. They will eat their words. I promise you this.
Owen, I agree that this is the only thing that made us unique, but only until Riflemen and Jedi got the abilities with the improvement that we were told was impossible. After that, I started to lose faith and think that tracking was all we had. But, then I realized the tab key, and zooming outthe radar range to view enemies on the radar. That also left me. Rescue was replaced by pass-through assistance, which is a combat feature that allows you to attack the same creatures a PC is attacking, by selecting thePC and using your attacks. If the PC being "Rescued" does no damage, then the other character will draw all of the enemies onto them with a scatter attack. Taunt also replaced this, as the "area taunt" or "enhanced taunt" ability was given to Teras Kasi Artists. That also left. Then the Bounty Hunters, with harvesting droids, veghash, and grouping up. They did more damage, and therefore got more resources in a shorter amount of time.
