Thread: Resource Shifting and Self Power Harvestors
That's a fairly good strategy for putting down harvesters. However, there are some things that will shift within that timeframe. Estimating a 10 day shift is good for most (but not all) resources.
Once you placea harvester, you will get an option on the harv's radial menu to make it self-powered if you have one of the things in your inventory. When you re-deed the harvester, you will get it back. I don't know what will happen if you destroy (rather than re-deed) your harvester.
I drop harvesters where they are convient for me and leave them there. Harvest whatever shifts in to the harvester.
Sure, I'm not first to market with the best resources, but it works for me.
Occasionally, if something really sweet spawns, I'll drop some just for it, but I usually just leave 'em running outside my house.

Actually I will be using your method until the end of the month. My questions are for the ALT I am going to be starting. I plan on using the lots from my main (non crafter) to gather as much resource as possible before the ALT starts. Since I can't survey, might as well put them right outside my door and see what happens.
If you want to do that and see what is near by you, try using a personal one before using a heavy... smaller footprint, cheaper to re-deed (especially if you are just seeing what is outside your house)... if you likewhat you see, then just re-deed your personal, and go drop the heavies...
Good luck. ![]()
Or right after you drop a harvester click on it soit shows up in the right hand upper corner of your screen and then select your self-power deed in your inventory, its radial option 3 "convert harvester". then just drop your next harvester add money, select resource and repeat.
If you redeed you will get the self powered deed back, remember that this now means 2O items, plus your harvested materials in your inventory. Make sure you have room!!! Nothing worse than a few thousand meters or a planet away with no room for your harvesters, self power deeds and all your stuff....sheesh Gotta love that 80/80 inventory increase though...
Good advice everyone....
