www.swgcraft.com is a website that usually reports what resources are on what planet and what their stats are. But for my server, there hasnt been much action there since the CU.

The old school way was to (1) just stand at the starport of choice and open your survey tool of choice, it will tell you what's on the planet. Most of it you can hand sample right around the starport. Examine it for its stats and move on. Or (2)just find a place to randomly set a harvestor of choice, on the planet of choice and let it pull 1 unit of everything in the area, retrieve it and examine it.

As for Dathomir, there is an area that is pretty flat, treeless and has hardly any mobs just 1-2k meters south of the Science outpost. All the planets have these "secret fishing spots" and there use to be an old thread about it but I cant find it. My non-combat character can still get to these areas without any escort as long as she's careful. To be on the safe side she usually groups with a level 80 guildmate and carries a spare vehicle in her inventory. LOL
