Thread: A Question Re: Repair Tools

I feel like an idiot. I spent a better part of the afternoon gettin to know my new equipment factory by having it grind out a bunch of parts which I would use to make repair tools with that had all the 'bells & whistles' like the control unit, storage compartment, & micro sensor suite. I assumed that having all these installed would severely diminish the chance of an item being repaired suffering blemishes, much less falling apart... Well, you know what they say about assumptions... I tried it out on my armor which was in bad need of repair (over 50% damaged) and one piece needed a 2nd repair job after suffering a blemish, and then it and another piece of armor that was badly damaged fell apart. So, in repairing 4 pieces of armor with the best tool I could make (both efficiency and durabilty came in at 19%+ and including the extra parts), I had to use the tool 5 times and suffered a 50% loss rate of armor.

I have two questions from this:

a)

Somehow i just lost 10 mins of typing so i'm gonna be crude and brief... I lost half a day making repair tools with the control units, storage compartments, and sensor suites installed. I lost two of four pieces of armor which I used the tool on. The tool was crafted and both durablility and effic were 19 and 20% and had the extras installed. The two pieces of lost armor were about 66% worn down.

a) Does damage to the armor affect it's chance of being fixed well?

b) Does the addition of sensor suites, contol units, and storage compartments do a **edit** thing other than suck up a ton of time to make? I didn't get my times worth out making it, and I'd be afraid to charge a price for these tools more than any other tool despite the time it took to make it... In short, for God sakes, is there any way to repair something with a reasonable chance of it not falling apart?

c) as far as repair to droids go ( and ch pets)... nothing should last forever
