Thread: Does UXP work while the crafter is offline or not in that Galaxy?
I crafted and sold many CDEFs the other day. I watched my crafting exp climb 37 points from what I assume was UXP. With my crafting experiance at 3607, I logged off and went to bed. When I came back my crafting exp was still sitting at 3607.
Now I had sold in the doublefigures of CDEFs in the past dayand given a newbie an axe that he said he was going to go kill with rgith before I logged, so it seems safe to assume that sometime in the ten hours I was gone someone killed something with a weapon I had made?
What gives?
But I emphasize that it rose by a few points. It did not seem to me I was getting the amount of UXP that SOE claims I should get (I believe 50% is the number). Maybe someone is buying CDEF carbines for 900 and deleting them. But I sort of doubt it.
I have sold a LOT of tools. However, my UXP never seemed to reflect that. On the other hand, I have no idea how many of the items I sold got used to any great degree. That trickle (200-300/night) seems to continue even when I dont sell anything for days.. so I am thinking that UXP earning is longer term then we expect.
I know from beta that it was said that uxp was granted slowly over time.. and the time scale could be weeks.. so that could be what we are seeing. However, I have a very real fear that much uxp has been lost with all the server and database problems.
The bottom line: Nothing about SWG development thus far makes me feel comfortable that I am getting all the uxp I should.
Some solutions:
Every day ( or week) send an email to players that summarizes the UXP they earned.
This would have two benefits:
1) Allow us to detect problems with UXP dispersal.
2) Provide players with direct feedback on UXP to help encourage them to market their product.
Right now UXP is so intangible that it creates both insecurity that it works, and little incentive to rely on UXP for advancement.

It's a bug.
UXP is supposed to be gained while offline, as is Factory XP - which also doesn't. Holo mentioned that they had found the problem with the "no offline XP" from Factories, which I expect is the same issue here - so it will probably get fixed at the same time.
