Thread: Characters gated by Skill Enhancing Attachments

Here is a word to the wise on skill enhancing attachments(this is also a message to the devs to get this fixed). It seems even if you can put them in(The ones that look like tape usually go in) that it can have adverse affects on a character due to what seems as an oversight of the programmers. This bug only happens when you put a skill-enhancer into a socketed item while having that item equipped. It seems that the programmers forgot to add the modifier to your character if the item is already equiped, so you do not get the bonus while wearing the item, but if you take off the item it STILL TAKES OFF THE SKILL BONUS. Now this can severly gate a character to having to wear this item(I gave a +3 to Creatures to CH, he put it in his belt while wearing it, with the belt he can have 2 creatures out, without it he can have -1, wow that sucks). Logging with the item off does not fix it, neither does dying, so in effect your character is officially screwed until the devs fix this. I am going to post this in the development forum, artisan forum, and tailoring forum in hopes that the devs may fix this.

I have the same problem with my +clothing assembly item. Filled out a ticket and they told me to relog naked, which did not fix the problem, I know have +100/+97 clothing assembly unless I wear the item which raises it back to 100.

This has happened to me and how i got it to work was to take off the item, then /logout then when i reload and put the item back on all was well. Just make sure you take the items off before you /logout

Most people use the quit command insead of /sit /logout so they just go linkdead instead of fully loging out the game. Your character cant reset if you just go linkdead (after /logout wait about 4 mins to be sure your fully out).
