Are different resources more or less common on different worlds? And is there ANY relationship between the visual terrain and the kind of resources you find there?
For example, I think that, on Endor, you couldn't go a meter without finding high concentrations of wood, and large quantities of it, too -- but on Tattooine, there should only be a handful of spots with any wood at all. Liquids should be found near bodies of water, metals in mountains, and so on. Is there anything akin to this in the game that anyone has noticed, or can any resource type be located anywhere, on any world, in any concentration, if that's how the dice are rolled?

Well, I've surveyed for water vapor on Corellia while standing knee deep in a river, and gotten a "resource not found" message, so it must be completely random where and in what concentration you find materials.
