Thread: How do you keep experimenting to improve something?

AFAIK you can't do what you said.

What does happen, though, if you have lots of exp pts (I have 10 right now) is...

you use less than stellar materials and only have 7 boxes to fill in. You fill those in and hit experiement. Well it went good but not greate so you actually got 5 boxes experiemented up. Well, now you can use 2 more of your 3 remaining points to fill those empty boxes and hit experiment again.

you can keep doing that until
- you fill all boxes
- you run out of experiment points
- current experiment value is 0% (a bug)

"current experiment value is 0% (a bug)"

It's not a bug. If you critical fail on something you aren't supposed to be able to experiment on it any more.

There is a very detailed guide to experimentation at:

It's better than I could ever hope to explain. Hope this helps.

Pardon the probably common and easy to answer question, but I'm new to the artisan profession and not sure how this works.

I was told it was possible to keep experimenting on one item to keep improving the quality. How does one go about that, exactly?

I make my device my the crafting station, experiment, then create a schematic. I was told you can use the schematic to keep testing and experimenting, but how do it do this? Thanks in advance for the help!
