Thread: 2 questions. (Survey range and radioactives)
Hiya, just started to collect resources and have 2 questions:
1) Was curious if you know the ranges of the survey levels. Trying to plan my character a bit and wanted to see if it was worth getting survey 4.
2) I came across 'known radioactive class 6.' I know that you can use these for power and chefs can work with them, but was curious if there was a 'main' use for them... a class that needs to use them often. Also, do these simply decay/disapear from your inventory? (possibly because its radioactive) I did a search and saw that some others have this problem while others didnt. I had the radioactives disappear from my inventory.... Is this normal or a bug? And if it is a normal thing, is there anything I can keep them in so that they dont disapear? Thanks alot.
Never heard of radioactives decaying in your inventory.
The 'main use' for them is as fuel for fusion ion generators, although you can mine them with mineral harvestors as well (though far less efficiently.)
Medics I think also may use some of them.
Don't know the survey ranges off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone can help you out.
The 5 different range settings are:
64m x 3pts
128m x 4pts
192m x 4pts
256m x 5pts
320m x 5pts
I dont remember which levels of surveying give you each of those specifically, but figure that there are four different levels to attain, and four more settings after the initial 64m x 3pts setting, and you can guess that you get one each time.
From what I can remember personal harvesters pull up max of 2 units of material per time period. Mediums and wind generators pull up 4 units, heavy and solar generators do 8 units. The fusion generator is used only for mining radioactives but it pulls em up at a maximum of 16 units per time period. Maintenance doubles each time you increase your harvester size. I don't own a heavy or fusion generator so I can't tell you for sure whether or not the maintenance on these is for sure 8 times what a personal harvester is.

"No no, they aren't fuel for fusion generators, they are the resource that fusion generators mine."
You say tomato, I say tomato, same difference.
Yes they can be used as power by themselves and pulled up by harvestors. And yes what comes out of the fusion generator is in fact just radioactives.
