For the most part, they're pretty good. Especially if you plan ahead. The higher payout missions need you to deliver to a different city, so look for 2 that have about the same destination and you can halve your travel costs.

However, I've had a couple that I had to abort because I got a critical failure on assembly, and one that I accidently had my inventory too full and only got 2 of the 3 components. You can't go back to the originator and get more parts, and you can't make some more because there's no schematic for them. It's too bad they don't just ask for normal stuff that you can make.
