Better yet how about a droid that wanders the landscape collecting data on deposits?

not sure what this would do to server load but it would be a blast.

However I am mostly looking forward to mounts as this should speed up the who survey harvest process nicely.

Droids are a great idea, too! I'd pay a Droid Engineer out the nose for something that would find my hot spots when I'm short on time on shift night.

I thought of this while running all over Corellia looking for any concentration at all of ore outside Tyrena. Sometimes, it would be nice to have a general hint of where to find pockets of a certain resource in your general area. Usually you can find them right away, but every now and again, they get truly elusive. So what about a sort of advanced survey device?

Make it like a harvester. Let it take up a lot for balance. Set it to find X resource. Ping. It returns several points of interest, giving you a general idea of where to start your search for your sweet spot. Maybe it finds the start of a vein, or even pings something over 30% and notes it (it might plane out at 32%, might go to 98%, who knows?).

Might be a great tool for an elite miner class, or just us poor schlups who need a clue now and again.
