Thread: Master Artisan does what now?

I began the game as an Artisan and got off the path for a while but came back to become Master and not because of holocrons or vehicles. Only after becomeing MA did I realize, I have no idea what the items MA makes do (Except the bird cage). Seriously, what are those control units and modules for? Droids? That's very narrow to offer crafted items to a small sections of the populace.

Master Artisan sounds like a skill and title that would make unique items related to the skills it took to get to Master. How about a weapon or armor piece only made by MA? A unique clothing or food item would be nice. How about a vendor skill. Advanced survey skills would be nice too. I'm not asking for a boatload of stuff, just maybe 1 unique per skill tree in Artisan.

I know vehicles are coming out and that's cool. But there's gotta be a good reason to be MA besides a mechanic. Right?

After making vehicles for a while you'll have enough experience to get Novice Arch and DE for 12 skill points. That gives you the ability to create high quality crafting stations and then persue either of those lines at your leisure.

Just about all of the components an MA can make are for DEs... however, I do believe this will change soon!

Master Artisan components are used by :

  • Droid Engineers

  • Architects

  • Armorsmiths

Don't forget weaponsmith. Control units and power cores are used in a few pistols (Tangle at least) and I think one or two of the rifles.

So the items made by MA are used for other classes. Are they essential items? If I make a them and sell them, will people buy them? I'm not interested in Droid Engineer, Architect or Armorsmith so I'll never use these items. What are the items for exactly?

More than half of all droid engineer schematics require MA skills. This just ain't right.

Right now 41 of the items that a DE can make require MA components. That is being looked in to. According to TH a change is coming. He wasn't sure if the MA components that DEs need would go away, or if new components would be added that are needed by the other elite crafting profession. But he did promise that things would be balanced one way or the other between the elite professions and MA.

But atm it plain sucks! Why do I need to know how to make Bofa Treats to make a droid? So yes if a MA had a constant ready supply of these items for the right price... atm, yes, it would definately be worth it

I'll rejoice the day I can drop MA! For Real!

Yes, selling crates of MA components is a possible source of income. One of my DE friends does this to supplement her income ( yep, she is her own supplier, but there are enough non-MA's to be a market )

DarkSmyth,

The way I read THs message was, it hasn't been decided yet if you will get to drop MA some day, or if all other elite crafting professions will need to pick it up. That is still in the too be decided phase.
