Hi There!
I am a new Master Artisan and want to make some better tools for myself.
I have a Weapon/General Crafting Tool made by someone else that is a +14.xx
I have 962 OQ Steel, and 963 OQ Fiberplast. It makes crappy tools. I can't even get positive numbers. But if I make a Tool out of 840 OQ Copper I can get +9.xx Tools.
Is there some other quality I should be looking at other then OQ???
Is one of the other properties more important???
Does anyone know???
Help!
Thanx.

ok here's teh scoop..crafting tool all about conductivity.

When crafting on the right hand side of your window is a description of teh item to be made if you scroll down that window it will tell you the important stats and percentages for your materials. Conductivity, overall quality etc. etc. when you select a material to you in thewindow on the left hand side of the crafting window it will display your materials stats. use the materials with high stats that the item it based on will yield better items.

Experiment.

Use your droid weapon and general crafting tool by the droid weapon and general crafting station you find in town. It will give you teh option to experiment. I suggest you do so and play around with it to find out what each experimentation does with your items. It will make you a better crafter. Good luck

I don't remember completely, but I know Conductivity is also thrown into the mix. I can't recall if it is 50/50 OQ/Cond or if Conductivity is more important. This will show in the schematic window when in the crafting tool. Copper usually has a better Cond then other metals, so that's probably why you had better results with copper.

It's all about conductivity. Nothing else matters. You can have a copper w/ 970 conductivity and 5 OQ, and you'd make great tools.

yeah it's all about conductivity. There's a perfect 1000 conductivity copper on bria right now with which we can make perfect 15.00 tools.

WOW!
I have never seen a perfect 1000 ANYTHING!!!
Well, thanx for the info. I knew it must have been something strange like that. The Steel I was using that had a better OQ only had a Conductivity of 58. No wonder the tools it made were crap.

I wub that copper.... spent three hours the day it spawned hunting down a nice spot on Rori to plant harvesters, but it was worth it.
