Thread: Anyone else playing with bone armor and voritor segments?
Since everyone is Holo-camping on Dantooine I find these voritor segments all the time for 100-200cr per. They've got base resists of around 6%, energy of 5-6% but more interesting is a kinetic resist of 6-7%. Not that these are going to make bone armor anything special, but with some resist to kinetic, however small, the user will get the benefit of the light armor rating against mobs. Seems likethis would actuallymake the armor useful to new players.
Anyway, with good bone, hide, polymer, and metal I'm making 30-32% energy resist bone with that 6-7% kinetic resist (experimentation has no effect on that resist). There are other resists for electrical and restraint, but does anyone actaully care about those at that level?
Just a question about something I've been doing to keep my artisan busy until the vehicles come out.
Target these to melee characters. It give them a 50+% damage reduction in PvP for low encumbrance. I personally prefer Mabari for low encumbrance kinetic, but I have used voritor bone as well.
Some people don't realize that a 6% kinetic resistance is actually a 53% damage reduction in combat (where regular bone is 0% reduction due to the vulnerability).
One thing many people overlook is that this armor is great for daily faction grinding missions. It is cheap effective and easily replaceable. I personally prefer to save the wear and tear on my good armor and save it till its needed ![]()

I'm glad that others are using this stuff. I sold my first set last night to some poor noob. He was trandoshan so he didn't need a full set, so I gave it to himfor 6K. Maybe a 4K profit, not enough to justify the time spent on it, but I was having fun and it's still exciting for this new crafter to see people using things I made.
I've got enoughsegments to make four more sets, and once I can get some more segments for 100-200cr I'll make more. I figure I can find an acceptable price on this stuff when vehicles go live and I've got a reason to get people into my store.
This has been a nice distraction so far. My MBH (who I've played exclusively since launch and has incredible weapons, armor, and a very fat bank balance) is collecting dust ![]()
