Artisan Vehicle sales cut 66% by SOE.
Because they will be limiting everyone to 1 vehicle not 3 like TC had originally.
How come ?
Where did you see this ? Not that I don't believe you but I'd like to know from where you know this...
Well, vehicles decay and decay fast.
That vehicles that were crafted with 40 K HAM were a bug. Now at Test Center the vehicles crafted have less hit points (circa 2000 hit points with 80% experimentation). Low esperimented made with low SR metal vehicles will last a few days only before they need rapair at a garage. I am not sure if garages have a chance to fail the repair and destroy the vehicle, but it is possible that we will see people that forgot to repair the vehicle and later need to buy other one.
Why would that reduce the sales... In fact it will increase the sales over the long run.
Vehical decay--- customer needs to buy a new vehical after awhile..
repeat customer if you give him a good price and dont scam him for alot of money the first time...
Woovie
Hmm... I'm trying to keep up with this fast moving vehicle business, but still am a bit unclear on what IS and what WILL BE when they go live. So, I have the following questions, and would much appreciate anyone with better knowledge to let me know which is correct and which is not:
- SR does make a difference in the starting HAM of a vehicle.
- Vehicles will decay as they're being used - what does this mean: piloting, storing, calling, all of the above? Is there a posted, confirmed rate of decay?
- You can repair the vehicles at a garage: Are garages only to be built in player cities? Does the master artisan play any part in these garage repairs? Is there a repair kit involved, i.e. like repairing armor and weapons?
- When do the vehicles actually disintegrate? At 0%, or before? What happens when a vehicle is only 75% of its original HAM? Does one see a gradual decrease in speed/performance?
The way I price my vehicles will substantially depend on the answers to those questions. If crap materials will work just as well as 900+ SR materials, then of course I'm not gonna break my back going out and mining high SR metals.
Thanks all for any and all info. ![]()
Quick answers:
Yes, Shock Resistance makes a difference. You can experiment up the Durability.
Vehicles decay while they are in the world (as opposed to on your datapad), so that would be "All of the above". They also decay a bit on Call and Store. Each type of vehicle has a Decay Rate (8 for Landspeeders, 13 for speederbikes, and 25 for swoops). Vehicles decay by that much each "tick" (8-10 minutes), and when Called and Stored.
Garages currently exist in most major cities. Look for the low building that looks like it has a short covered driveway and two force-shield enclosed "spaces", with a door in between. There will also be Garages in Player Cities (placed like any other Civic Building).
Garage Repair is automatic, but there is a fee (2cr/point repair). Currently, this is the only way to repair a vehicle (I imagine a Vehicle Repair Kit, craftabe and usable by the mythical Vehicle Engineer).
I believe vehicles are all-or-nothing; they run at full performance until they break down.

Thunderheart confirmed it in another thread - you can only have 1 vehicle on your datapad. He did open up the possibility that it could change at some point in the future, once vehicles have been around for awhile.
And you guys just gonna roll over on that? I guess since you'll never own 3 like me you'll never know how sweet it was... I don't care who TH is he's not my buddy he's my customer service he works for me the customer.
If anything having 3 vehicles will increase decay becuause of the extra ticks when calling & storing.
