Thread: Making money , where to search ???

I have decided to choose the Artisan profession and had some improvement.

The skill itself is not that difficult, but making money is something else.

I have reached the highest surveying skill in just 1 day , but....

I've read that you have to survey for resources and sell them at a bazaar terminal or Vendor.

My question is : How do I know which resource (any kind of resource) or crafted product is worth enough to sell.

Is there a ist somewhere ?

Where can I find these resources ? I suppose the resource value changes all the time...

And when I find this resource , how can I determine which is the best price to sell and where to sell ?

Many thanks in advance ,

Greetz,

Faki

When I first started mining if I surveyed and saw something with good stats I would then go look it up at www.swgcraft.com on the resource usage link. After a while you get to know who uses what and what stats to look for etc. Hard to say about what to sell them for as with any business its down to supply and demand and prices will vary greatly between servers.

And people will usually buy bad stuff just to grind with if you sell it for 2-3 cpu (credits per unit). Tailors, for example, can use anything as the resource quality doesn't effect our items and then there are the holo-grinders...

for every resource there is a buyer, the same with crafted items. When I first started out I looked at the bazzar to get an idea of what other people were making and what they were charging.

Resources shift all the time, I deal in bulk over quality so what I look for is a high density spot with decent stats, someone is always grinding, then it goes on my vendor for 2-3 cpu.

IF you don't have a vendor the best place is the bazzar in a high traffic location such as Coranet..

It would be nice if there was some form of classified ad where you could post your needs/services for others to see.

Like a bazaar in reverse? place your contract, place your money, get an email when someone fills your order, go collect stuff from the bazaar? WHAT A FANTASTIC IDEA! lol

What a lot of people do wrong in pricing up their materials is only taking overall quality of resources into account. In actual fact, resources with high (800-999) stats in ANYTHING are worth a lot. For example, people crafting electronic components need to look for HIGH CONDUCTIVITY and can sometimes ignore OQ all together!

I usually price at 6cpu for special materials, 3cpu for average, and 1.5 for grinding rubbish. I sell a lot and I get rich. For anyone with surveying, I recommend getting on the POWER gravy train ASAP as with an ION FUSION generator, you can make about 70k a day for doing... um... nothing (with one generator, now multiply that by how many building slots you can afford)except chasing the resource after a shift.

Also, if you are chasing resource surveys, get a bike. Create a macro which goes something like dismount...survey...mount and bind it to a button. Hey presto, you can get from survey to survey very quickly and just tap that macro button to do your next scan and get back on your bike ready to speed off again.

Hope this helps cash flow, and save time too, so you can concentrate on chasing your career rather than cash.

The best place to sell anything is in coronet because it is frequented the most by people.
