I'm just wondering if a schematic needs the same type of resource you used to make it (such as Corellian Dolovite Steel for example) or if it can be any metal or fruit for instance? unless the draft calls for a specific resource instead of a general resource such as organic or fruit.

Yes, a manufacturing schematic always need the same type of resource you used to make it. If you made a manufacturing schematic of some crafting tool using Ege Polysteel Copper, when you use the schematic in a factory you need to put some Ege Polysteel Copper in the input hopper, can't replace it with anything else.
