Thread: Strange bug with harvester
I was complaining about something very similar in guild chat today. 2 of my harvesters are eating power. I put 10k of power in, and 12k of maintenance, come back to find 2k maintenance (5 or so days later) no, power, and only 2k of a resource that is still going strong. My other harvester, exactly the same BER, maint and power meanwhile is going strong with 2 days of power left having collecting near on 60k of resources.
This has happened just a few too many times lately.

I'm encountering something strange with my harvesters. They're all charged up with power and maintenance. I choose the resource to mine and kick it off, every couple of days I go back and empty the hopper and everything is fine. Then the resource depletes and the next time when I go back the harvester is turned off. The problem is there's nothing in the hopper, so everything that has been mined since I last visited the harvester and the resource depletes goes missing. This is starting to get quite frustrating, it's not just one harvester it's doing it on.
Is there something I'm doing wrong that's causing this, is there anything I can do to stop it from happening?
Thanks

That's been something I've seen occasionally for a while (February was the first time I noticed it).
The way I heard it described, is that it has to do with how the game loads (or in this case doesn't load) items into the game world. Your harvester only really exists when there's a player there looking at it. When the harvester pops in, it calculates its state (maintenance pool, power reserve, hopper contents) based on it's last update (say the last time you visited) and its current situation.
Things get a little screwy when resources shift out. The harvester goes into "hibernation" after you get 200m or so from it, at that point the resource concentration is good. Then the resource shifts out, effectively making the concentration 0%. Then you come back to check on it. The harvester "wakes up", checks the time, calculates the maintenance used, the power used and...realizes it's on a 0% concentration, so nothing gets added to the hopper.
This behavior doesn't always show up. If another player passed by your harvester between your last maintenance visit, it does all that catch-up with the correct resource concentration, so you'll have some unitssitting in the hopper.

I too have had that problem and unfortunutly haven't figured out a was to reach it....its prety bad for me cause I let it harvest for a WHILE so I'm losing more than like 15k of resources. I feel your pain
Wish i knew how to fix it
