Thread: Where did the Wichta go to?

I'm looking under all three of my survey devices (Chem, Mineral, Flora) and I can't find Wichta anywhere. It was there before and I've foraged it before, but now I don't see it. My Chemical Survey Device only shows 3 items that I can survey/sample - Quadamanibroat, Aconi, Iapo. I would swear Wichta used to be under Chem, and a whole lot of other items. What am I not seeing here ?!

Do survey devices show all possibilities all the time, or do they just show what is currently available in the area (planet?) you are in? I had always thought they showed everything all the time.

after reading around it looks like a dynamic resource shift has taken place already. SO we have to find new resources and go from there, kinda cool

I'm finding that Jaba (Domesticated Wheat) is now missing from my Flora Survey Device, so it seems that survey devices only show what is currently available. I'm going to do some travelling and see if Witcha is available on a different planet.

I too am experiencing problems. After yesterdays patch, i have lost everything except fiberplast from my chemical tool. I knew that they had planned on switching materials around every one in a while, but this is like a bug. Ive went to two different planets and nothing is showing up on chemical tool except fiberplast. One of the materials used to make the armor im making is or rather WAS on that list. I cant use fiber to make it. I'm at a great loss.

It is my understanding that if the resource does not show up on your survey tool then that resource is not available on the planet that you are on. Some resources are more rare than others, so you might have seen a resource before the reset but it may no longer exist on any of the planets in your galaxy.

Now a problem that concerns me more is what Hovdawg described above -- I have found several resources that show up as 60+% in an area but still they can not be sampled by hand. The message appears that there is not a high enough concentration of that resource. I was not able to narrow anything down further -- however the problem appeared to be universal -- a few friends could notsample that same resource that I was trying to recover. This is IMO a big bug. FYI, a friend said he was able to retrieve the resource using a harvester even though he was not able to by hand. I'd recommend testing this out before dropping a new harvester though....

http://www.swgcenter.com/resource_tree/resources.asp

With the help of the community, I have been tracking the varying resources and their statistics. The next feature I planned on implementing was a way to track by planet/server. But, from what I am hearing, this may not be viable. Are you saying that some resources like minerals etc can simply leave one planet and jump over to another? Also, it is starting to seem that resources may not be different form server to server, they are just not all appearing at the same times. With that being said, do you think I should continue to add the feature of planet/server for the surveyable resources?
