Thank you. I took some time to figure all this out and you'ld think the information would be more readily available about the game mechanics. I hope someone sees it and makes the changes. Its not like I am asking for some make artisans uber stuff, just a bit more functionality to round out a pretty decent implementation of surveying and harvesting.

I'd suggest just giving you the ability to remote monitor them. I call up my harvestor status on my datapad. Now that I am at novice weaponsmith, and as a casual player, I am spending soooooo much time running around to harvestors. With inconsistent behavior of the harvestors relative to power and maintenance consumption, this would help the artisan out greatly.

This is all needed very badly. Harvesters are just too tedious. Casual players can't use them because they stand a good chance of getting screwed over if they don't check them, at the absolute least, once a day. Twice a day is better, when you log on for the day and when you log off for the night.

I posted this on the SWG Discussion and 15 seconds later it was page 2. I figure it might actually get seen here.

------------------Begin cross post-----------------------

I have a couple of suggestions for harvesters. Email is sent when you have any event in the bazaar happen. Why can't a harvester send you an email if it shuts down, fills to capacity, or runs out of power. Events for the vein running low, maintenance running low, and other "status updates" would be nice as well. I played for 5 hours today before realizing that Iron was no longer surveyable. Had I not checked, I would have left the harvesters there doing nothing for a day or so only to be suprised that they shut themselves down. If I have multiple harvesters all over the place, I could literally need to spend 8 hours a day running to them to check on their statuses. This can't be what you had in mind and makes no sense in a world of technology. You've shown email from devices to be handy. I think it would work really well from harvesters.

Please clarify the status elements on the status screen. It is not immediately clear that power consumption is measured in hours. I almost thought it was 25 per day. The (0:44) looks like 44 minutes and not the 44 hours it represents. Given that, I have no idea what the 0: will be used for or represent. None-the-less its confusing to a new harvester and could be made clearer.

Refund prepaid maintenance when the unit is destroyed. At the very least, refund it if the vein runs dry. Afterall, the money has not been spent yet and prepayment is a mechanic so that players don't have to visit their harvesters every day. As it stands now, my harvesters will never have more than a day or so maintenance on them causing me to log in every day and spend boring hours running to them. I'd prefer to give em a weeks worth of maintenance and let it run but I am too afraid the vein will run out three minutes after I pay it and I'll eat the money or let it sit idle. (both not good situations)

Lastly, my next update has to do with surveying. Is there any rhyme or reason to the percentages and where they are laid out? This surveying meta-knowledge should be available in game so that I am not foolishly searching for wind energy in a forest. As far as I knowwind in a forestis possible because nothing in game has told me there is any logic to the percentages. I also would like more macro level tools for surveying. I have no fewer than 30 substances to survey and I need to survey and follow veins for each. This relates to the above because there is no way for me to "guess" at appropriate places using geographical knowledge. A tool that would tell you all of the substances in the spot you are standing and their percentages for say 5m would be nice. I could use it to eliminate "Dead" areas from my search more efficiently than opening up every single surveying tool I own and surveying for each.
