Thread: Bone armour....quick questions?!?!?
ok, ive crafted my own bone armour and so far i just crafted a bone helmet and its pretty good for a first timer. but is it really worth it for me to actually wear it?
i just reached lvl 4 engineering so i have been wondering this lil' wuestion for sometime now. or should i just sell them? and get a few extra cred's?
need alot of advice here.
Whether particular armour is worthwhile depends on what you are fighting and what your stats are.
Bone armour only works against energy guns, but most lower level NPC's and players either use those or mele with you. Won't help with mele, but will deflect a few head shots. A nice helmet is really worthwhile if you are overt or TEFed to keep you from being one shot killed by a rifleman. Gives you a chance to run away.
Be sure to take it off when resting, a hot key bank helps with that. Note that putting on other clothes automatically unequips the armour so you don't have to flash your groupmates. It affects your secondary stats which control your healing rate, and (for a helmet) the mind drain for moves like healingincreases. Folks who complain about the drain are not taking it off when they should.
Bone looks pretty cool as well and sells well to starting characters. Check for competitive prices and quantities on the bazaar before you make it for sale. If it getsbetter stats than most from your materials and experiments, show them in the description. It will be hard to compete with a Master though
Totally agree Ashrid.
There are some stupid (sorry for the word but I'm not english speaking man and I can't find a better one, I don't mean to bother anyone) artisans that are undercutting prices.
These days I'm seeing 20% energy defense (and higher)bone armour pieces for sale for 200 credits in the bazaar, INSTANT SALE!!!!
Where's the pointof make a 25% defense bone armourif you cannot sell it for a reasonable price (15K a whole outfit)? Who's going to risk be incapacitated or even dead to get those good bones and hide if it doesn't worth the pain? Or if you're not scout/artisan, then why pay 3 credits unit (sometimes up to 10 credits unit) in the bazaar for bones and hide if you can't get a profit selling armours crafted with that stuff? And what to say about armoursmiths armours put for sale for 1K in the bazaar (maabari, chitins, etc)?
Those artisans are messing up the market (for scouts too) and now nobody is getting a profit selling armours. Put in the bazaar a BA made just to get XP undercutting prices is unfair to artisans that are trying to get a reasonable profit selling good BAs.
Sorry for my weird english, forgive me please ![]()
