Thread: Quality weights?

How do you determine what qualties of certain materials are more important to the object your crafting? I mean, when crafting food, flavor is probably really important to creating a good object. But how important? More than overall quality. And what about weapons, armour, creatures, and everythign else you can craft? Is there anything within the game that will tell me how or am I reduced to surfing the web searching for what I hope is an accurate database? I'm aware of swgcraft.com but the schematics section is down and apparently doesn't contain the weights anyway. Any help would be appreciated.

Ahh, luckily each item tells you what qualities are important for it. If you look at the spec for a
weapon upgrade like a scope, you will see in it's description(may not be actual text, I'm doing this from
memory):

Experimental Effectiveness:

Overall Quality 100%

This means that when you choose components, all you have
to worry about is the Overall Quality ratings of the
metal and fibroplast.

Let's take a more complex example:

Experimental Durability:

Malleability 66%
Decay Resistance 33%

Experimental Effectiveness:

Heat Resistance 50%
Malleability 25%
Overall Quality 25%

So depending on what attributes you want to enhance, you
choose materials with the appropriate high stats. Using
a material with high malleability and decay resistance would
give you more experimentation points in those areas.

Awesome, thanks.
