Hi,
I'm a new Master Artisan comingfrom a life of combat, and I've came into a dilemma of where to actually put a vendor. The ideal spots would appear to be outside of Theed, Mos Eisley, and Coronet, but a large chuck of these areas are taken up by old houses and dead/empty vendors. Most malls have a tight control on the economy, and I was looking for a ready market for my vehicles. Most player cities are dead (Who ever visits Talus anyway?) and ghost towns. Talking with a friend of mine who sells medical supplies, I'm told he does not sell anything in his current player city. The high traffic player city I would like to build in currently is jammed pack with buildings and tents.
Eventually, I would like to get into the Shipwright/Starship Engineer proffesion, so I'm looking for a good location for return customers. Currently, I am stationed 1 km west of Tyrena, and I also have not had any sales there. I was hoping to start this thread as a discussion of th best strategic places for vendors.
Thanks.

It's getting harder and harder to start and keep a successful business these days, I have the same problem, I am a master merchant and sell vehicles and I can't seem to sell any. The only high traffic areas any more are south coronet and theed. I remember the good days when my business 2k meters east of Tyrena sold 10-15 items daily... I think one of the problems is that everyone starts in mos eisley now so everyone is either there or at the dantooine mining outpost. You could try having your shop in front of some popular POI's?

Go out to Mercadia and have a talk to Lew. They are looking for some crafting types to replace folks who have left the game, gone fulltime into combat, etc.

In my experience advertising on the world map helps more than anything else, Just make sure your vendor is stocked or else kiss that customer goodbye forever. Being close to cor helps too.

If you build it they will come. Focus on quality or cheapness(still has to be good quality stuff) and if you are stocked and people know about you they will come. Getting on world map(merchant advertising 3) is a need and not being to far and out of the way is also good... dont be 6k from the nearest shuttle/starport.
