Thread: What are the Survey Avg's?

Newbie question here.
What are the numbers I really should be looking for? I know that 100% for whatever I'm surveying for would be the best. But what are the numbers really being found?
Are area's in the 20's, 30's the avg? Or is the avg about 50%? Mainly I guess I'm asking, what should be the minimum that I should be looking for, and when should I stop? (I.E. I find a place that's 79%, stop there?)

Id say 75% is very good, worry more about the resources quality, I didnt even pay attention to it until I hit master lol...I had bone armor with like 75energy protection lol.

The numbers are different for each class of resources, so its hard to come up with a general rule of thumb. In general I consider an 85% to be very good, generally something in the mid to high 70's is what I will target. There are a few execptions though, low grade-ore, wind energy, and solor energy have a lower conecentration. I don't think I have ever seen those get higher than 60%.

I don't like to drop a resource collector unless I can hit at least 70%. The exception is wind power. For whatever reason I have rarely seen wind power over 60%.
It all depends on how much your time is worth and how much you want to waste in maintenance and power. A resource collector costs the same in maintenance and power on a 35% concentration as it does on a 91% one. I haven't seen any concentrations over 93% either.

this is what ive found
Water. over 50% is good, though it can hit 70's 80's and even 90's but for some reason many times its stuck around 50%
Low grade ore i have NEVER seen over 72% or 73% and if i find 60% im stoked, i mine ore all the time at 40-45% but really try for over 50%
all others chems, gas, florals seam to hit into the 90% except wood but anything over 70-75 is nice.
Ive been a miner since launch and have tracked everything even floral for months and months at a time.. Im on radiant soo things man vary from server to server.

That's pretty much what I get. The highest ore concentration I saw was 70%. Typically I'm pleased with anything over 50%. Wind can get into the 80's. I typically settle for 60% plus. ( I've been running a BER 10 wind since super tuesday, so about5ish months ).
Chems and gas are the easiest. I don't bother to settle for less than 90% most times ( one current gas spawn is the exception, I got lazy and plopped 6 harvies on the first % I found, 77%). Flora will run very high as well ( upper 90%s), but in fewer areas. For a chemical, there may be as many as 15 spots over 90% on a planet. For a flora, there may only be 1 or 2. They'll be several 80% plus spots, and untold number of 70% plus spots.
For minerals, I generally plop on the first 70% plus spot I find. They can also rarely jump above 90%, 80% plus is common, but 70% is good enough for me
Radioactive is the exception. It tends to be a little lower, I settle for 65% plus ( you have to hunt harder for this, the big concentrations are out there).
