Thread: Crafting Missions?
On Talus, in Dearic I've found the guy in the guild hall that hands out suveying missions.
I am undecided if the time involved is worth the reward/risk.
But I am now looking for crafting missions to see if they are any better investments in time.
Where do I find one? I searched all of the guild halls and couldn't find one. I found a few NPC's that said they didn't have anything for me at the time. I've found a few NPCs outside of the guild halls that will give missions, but there are a lot of NPCs.
Do I have to look in another city? Or keep searching NPCs?

Yeah, I also found people in Guild Halls with surveying missions, however whenever I accept the missions, I get no information on what they are looking for. They just say "to look for something for (insert component)".
Am I doing something wrong? I look in my Datapad and I have no information other than the 250 credits or so award for finding that "material". To me, for that low a reward, I'd rather take two FedEX missions to a nearby town and clear 1500 credits (after paying for the ticket). Then again, maybe those surveying missions should help us find "rare" materials?
There must be something that I don't get.
I have no idea for crafting missions. I haven't met any NPCs for this yet.
I found a couple rebels in the wilderness that gave a survey mission and a crating mission. The crafting mission was rather like a delivery mission.
I had to travel to Dearic (I was just outside Nashal on Talus) and get components for a piece of an A-wing they wanted to stress test. I then had to combine the components in my generic tool to get the exp.
It was kinda cool. When I took the mission a new scematic appeared in my tool and everything. There's definitely room for improvement and volume of these types of missions but that example made me a beilever in the system. They can do it...give them time and more content will be added.
Oh and in case you're wondering, the rebels are gone...must've been a spawn.
@sbluez:
My missions all had "ORE" as their type and a waypoint set way out in BFE.
Once I got to the waypoint - the first one was set in the middle of a river. I started surveying for all the ore types and just followed the strongest ones.
Once I got on top of a waypoint that met the requirements of the mission, I got a message saying I got the reward.
The amount of time to run out there and back really didn't seem worth it though.

When you're out surveying (check my thread Don't Ignore Those POI'S!) and you see a Gungan Camp, a camp full of philosophers, whatever, talk to someone there. This is a pretty steady way to get crafting missions. Sometimes it will turn out to be a survey mission, but 2/3 times it will be a crafting mission.

Yes I would also like to know where to get crafting missions also!
I was on Rori for awhile and have travelled to Corellia in order to find an npc that gives these missions? Anyone have a location or idea of where to look. I would rather not have to go out into the middle of the wilderness though unless it is to finish the mission...

I read somewhere that there might have been crafting missions added in a recent publish, where you can get XP and the whole nine yards.
Can't find anything due to the totaly useless search function of this forum.
I can't exactly remember where you get them (I don't think it's the same as the artisan mission terminals), but they're crap. I looked at one as a master tailor. It was an order for six flight suits.
If you want xp, look elsewhere. If you want credits, just hock the resources. If you want fun, they aren't the answer.
