Thread: Crafting with resources that lack a specific stat

Here's a question... if you have a recipe that, to simplify things, bases its quality 100% off of overall quality... obviously you want to use ingredients with a high overall quality.

First question, if anyone knows... if it takes 10 items, 6 chemical and 4 metal say, and the chemical you use has 900 quality and the metal has 100... I assume the average quality will be 580, right?

Now, what if I use a metal that lacks overall quality (I know that all materials seem to always have overall quality and durability, but ignore that for not)... is that stat assumed to be 0, or is it left out of the equation? I.e. will the final quality be assumed to be 900 (the quality of the 6 chemicals, the metal ignored since it lacks the stat) or 540 (the metal assumed to have 0 OQ)?

There ARE some times when this is a valid question, as some chemicals lack some qualities that are used in schematics, while others have those qualities... is it better to use an ingredient with a low stat over one without the stat period?
