I'm tryiing to drop a wind harvester down, and what I see is the yellow grid area, and the red grid area of the harvester itself. But no matter what I do, I can't click a button or whatever to get it to place. What do I need to do?

You need to make sure you are not in a build zone (you need to be a certain distance from town, not sure what the actual shipping distance was - it was around 1 km late in beta).

You need to get a green grid under the building you are placing. Often you will get in an area that is too hilly to place a harvestor, the flatter the land the better chance you will find a place to set it down and build it.
