So, what is the difference between these? I've seen the same bonus's show up on any of these, so I'm at a loss as to what the difference is.
Is there something to do with a better bonus for a more complex item? And if that is the case, why three of them available at novice level and all the same complexity?

The only thing I have been able to figure out is the complexity. I had far more success experimenting on barrels at frist. I still have a hard time with muzzles even though I make scopes as a matter of course now.

What I want to know is what do the bonuses mean? If the power up gives +10% to mind cost is that really a bonus? Sounds like a penality to me. And nothing changes when you power up, so know way of knowing what's going on. I know that they all could be bonuses but how do we know without a Dev telling us what's really going on? Could be some power ups you want and others you don't.

I wondered about this for a while as well. Based on the bit of experimentation I did it seems that all the power-ups are indeed beneficial, though I agree that many of them need to have their descriptions changed. A powerup that says +10% heath cost for example seems to be lowering the health cost of using a special action with that weapon by 10%. In many cases the powerup may provide such a small increase that the stats on the weapon don't change. A 3% change in a heath cost of 11 for example probably won't change the number that appears on the weapon. Also, these benefits can be miniscule - I once botched a couple and got a +.0035% chance of inflicting a wound. That's not worth the time it takes to drag the powerup over my blaster heh. Having reached Master Artisan I'll also say that the experimentation points make a huge impact. I've produced power-ups with multiple andlarge benefits. If only the description of what you have just made came up before you have to decide wether to make a scematic or a prototype like everything else you craft. I'd love to pump out 100 of these rare successes that give multiple benefits.
