Thread: How much energy?
When you put your energy in the harvestor, you will notice a number in the form of 0:15 or something like that. While it may look like this is good for 0 hours and 15 minutes, really this means 15 hours. So a number of 0:36 means 36 hours, and a 0:10 means 10 hours.
But this is where it gets tricky: the first number means how many GROUPS of 60 hours you have built up. So therefore a number of 1:0 means you have 60 hours. a 1:30 means you have 90 hours, and a 2:50 means you have 170 hours.
I think it's a programming bug that will probably get attention in the near future.
Depending on the device to power, it typically takes 600-750 units of energy to run for 24 hours. Check the power rating of the device. At rating of Power Rating: 25, means that is uses 25 units of energy per hour of running.
Energy comes in 3 forms ... Wind energy ... Solar Energy ... Radioactive Energy.
As with any resourse, you can either harvest the energy yourself, or buy it off the open market. If you need just a little, it would be easier to buy it from the bazaar (under MISC ... RESOURSE CONTAINERS ... Etc)
Course if you can find a spot of Radioactive Energy and you have the survey skill, just /sample some of that. Otherwise aquire a wind harvestor (solar harvestors are very expensive) and set the wind harvestor in a good spot ... put maintenance money in it and let it rip.
Hope that helps.
