Just look at those resource prices! There is a lot of money to be made by being the seller and not the buyer. I currently run 2 MMI's, 7 Personal Mineral Harvesters, 1 PChem, 1 PGas, and 3 Wind Generators. I'm in the process of upgrading all my personal's to Mediums and my WInd Gen's to Solar. 6 of those lots are leased from a friend for 25% of the daily take. I have spreasheets tracking my daily take and what stuff is selling for. I hang onto good resources to sell for twice the price after they deplete (anyone need Neutronium Steel a week from now on Kettemore...let me know ).

Take Survey I-IV, Eng I-IV, Scout Explore and Hunting, a little medic to make stims, a line of combat...heck whatever you want. I don't know what the miner profession was in beta but I am having a blast running a mining business now. Right now I am clearing about 30k a day, when I get everything up and running I expect to clear 100k+ a day. Takes me about an hour to make rounds and put stuffon the bazaar.

The grind of the advanced crafting professions has no appeal for me. But I am loving every minute of running this business. Jetting around to different planets trying to find the rare resources....tracking market conditions on the bazaar, looking for opportunities, deficiencies, areas to stay out of for the moment, areas to undercut...

My costs are hovering right around 1.2 cr/unit. I sell normal resources for 3-4, good ones for 4-5, and hard to find depleted ones for 6-8.

Anyway, my thoughts on the matter.

Most annoying thing so far: how easy it is to put 5000 power into a harvester when you only want to put 500....c'mon why the heck can't it be the same input screen as maintenance? Makes ZERO sense.

Pythagoras haven't you noticed that extra zero that seems to slip in there when you manually type in the power? You HAVE to look before you hit enter because you never know whether it is there or not.

I love the inflated market...it is making me rich. I don't need it to stabilize...though even at 2 cr/u I would be making a fortune.

I totally agree. I accidentally had an extra 0 in there one time. The problem lies in the fact that when I put the focus in that field and press backspace, sometimes it removes the 0, sometimes the insertion points moves before the 0. So I've just learned to be careful.

Sounds like you've got quite a lucrative business going. I know someone who wants 100k of steel, so I've set up 6 extra machines on a friend's lot. Once I make some more deeds, I'm going to have another friend of mine lay all 10 lots down.

Here comes that order of 100k steel!!!!

Sounds good to me, too. I know I've made more money selling resources than anything I've actually crafted. It really doesn't take long to tend to your harvesters, empty the hopper and sell it on the bazaar. One time, I put up seperate 1k amounts of steel at a bazaar on Tatooine and I had barely walked away when I received emails stating those had sold. It was great! I'll usually take some simple destroy missions to supplement more of my income and my time away from my harvesters. I also have a friend that has some of my harvesters under their name. I'm waiting for the DEVs to figure out how many people are making money this way and then they'll nerf it somehow. I sure hope not.

Shhhh. Don't give away the secret. Pretty soon everybody's going to be mining and selling resources and there goes the market.

Out of curiosity, cdale, what are you doing with all the money you're making?

Well I have only been trying to build my business for less than a week. During this time I have put every penny back into the infrastructure. I'm actually now up to 6 PH's, 1 PM, 4 MMI's, a med house, and 1 solar. Desperately trying to find another solar so I don't have to get grifted by the bazaar power sellers.

My costs are down to .8 cr/unit. Where they are depends on how often the resources shift.

Hold onto the rare and good types of resources, and wait until they cycle out. I bet you could command a premium price on materials when they aren't around. Of course, if you really know your stuff, you could probably spend your time planet hopping and buying resoucres cheap and selling them on planets that have low supply at a markup, and you can do that with no harvesters. Of course then you are an importer/exporter rather than a miner, but if you know the market well enough I bet you make even more money. Someone tries to undercut you? Good! Buy thiers cheap and wait until the resource cycles out and put it back up for sale then.

Kohistan is allso a newly started miner and owner of Omni Corp.

Untill now I have 6 small mineral extractors and a windmill. Landed my first big contract yesterday - and are currently putting every penny I earn into building up my company. I love this bussiness-type playing.

On another note, does anyone have a list of resources where its stated what kind qualities is good for what kind of building, crafting, etc.
Right now im kinda unsure on what kind of resources are good to hold on to, what needs to be sold cheap and the likes.
