Thread: Macro Sampling and Excess Surveying Experience

Here isan idea I had about addressing two issuesof theArtisan/Crafting profession. The excess surveying experience that we get after reaching Surveying IV, and the rampant macro sampling.

What I propose is a tradeoff of losing the benefit ofmacro sampling while gaining something else more useful at higher levels.

Change or Add the following Features:

- As a Surveyor's skills go up, the time between sampling should go up. For example Surveying I could have a10 second delay, Surveying IV could have a 25 second delay.

- Add a Master Surveyor option that can make use of all the excess surveying experience but has a longer deley between samples.

-Balence all this by giving Master Surveyors the ability to survey at very large distances, like 500 or 1000 meters. When the Elite professions reach close to Master Status, they should have a Master Surveyor ability to compliment them, so then can survey the terrain with much more efficiency.

I think it would a fair trade off to give up macro sampling (due to longer delay times between sampling)if the Elite Artisan professions could survey the terrain at much large ranges to save time when resource shifts occur.

I know there are lots of details that could be filled in here,so please tear this apart as needed, I think this could really work if the Devs crunch the numbers to make everything balenced.

I think a much simpler solution would be to force a 'empty hopper' on a survey command.

So allow Survey to be a macro and allow a collection of say 200 units...maybe going upto 500 with Artisan Master. But unless you empty the hopper no more is retained.

Empty Hopper would NOT be macro-able.

Stop *****ing. What have macro samplers ever done to you? it's a pain to sit there and do the same commands over and over. I don't sample overnight, but it's useful to have some sort of macro going while crafting. I find a good spot, sample for metal, and grind repair kits. All they should do is restrict the looping so that you can't loop it for over an hour, and un nerf sampling.
