Thread: Is experimentation nerfed, or am I just cursed?

In the last 24 hours I've had about 20 critical failures on experimentation. I'm trying to make crafting stations. I experimented on all of the Master Artisan parts needed, and also experimented on the stations themselves. Even when the experimentation windows listed 0% Risk, I'd get failures. I don't remember it being this bad (last week, for example). The entire night I only had 1 critical failure on assembly.
Has anyone else noticed an increase in experimentation failures, or am I the victim of statistics?

The first thing I'd say is look at the quality of the tools and crafting stations you're using. If they are negative, that could contribute, though the 0% risk box indicates this is likely not the case.
That said, I've been experiencing more failures and 'moderate success' (failure in disguise) than usual. I think they changed how experimentation was handled some time in the past couple weeks. I used to be able to crank out 50 of any given artisan item and experiment it out to max with maybe one failure, now I would probably fail on a dozen of them.
I must say, it makes experimentation more interesting than just "success, success, success, oh hey what do you know, another success!" and I feel proud when I achieve a good result.

Anectodal experience suggests that crafting stations are broken.
It was observed on this thread:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=architect&message.id=16938
that a better number == WORSE results (more critical failures)
However its also possible that server load and client-side lag & packet loss of all things affect crafting. It really feels like rubber-chicken science, and it just might be.
If you are getting many critical failures try these:
1) make sure if you have a droid with a crafting module that he's put away unless he's the one you're crafting on
2) leave the house and re-enter (or store/call droid)
3) stop crafting for a while and try later (might be server or database load)
