I often wonder the same thing.I had the exact same scenario...read the book, bought the guide, visited the sites.

Is migration the way to go? I hope so. I play with some combat types and I'd love to move some mind points to Health/Action and not lose any "crafting functionality".

If you aren't involved in the war, and thus aren't doinga lot of pvp, you can probably do just fine with lower mind stats, and pump your health up a little bit.

The main reason, if you aren't a medic, to have high mind stats is that mind is the only thing you can't heal in the field, so if you have a rifleman, swordsman, bounty hunter with eyeshot, or combat medic with mind poisonon you, you can survive longer (those classes specifically target mind).

Greetings,

I've done my homework...

Prior to creating my character I read the game manual. I read Prima's Strategy Guide. I even scouted around and read "How To's" on creating a character specifically designed to craft. Finally, I tracked down some "How To's" and "FAQ's" about learning my craft. (Weaponsmith)

Armed with this knowledge I fire up SWG and create my character:

Health: 600 ( Strength:400 & Constitution:400 )

Action:1000 ( Quickness:500 & Stamina:500 )

Mind: 1000 ( Focus: 500 & Willpower:500 )

Now,a relatively short time later, I find myself at Master Artisan. What have I learned?Apart from Surveying (and maybe some Hand-Sampling), I see absolutely no usage of Mind. Nothing is used in the crafting process - Action and Mind remains untouched -even during the Experimentation process.

So this begs the question: Apart from Survey/Sampling, are Mind points used in the higher tiers of crafting (ie Weaponsmith)?

Also, will I lose any "crafting functionality" if I migrate Mind points over to Health? Let's face it, most of us like to just SHOOT stuff after a long day of grinding. (c:

Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance and as always,

Safe Journies...

Mind gets used heavily in the medic/doctor/cm line with each heal.

It also determines which armor you can wear, and special attacks you can use. It gets targeted by Riflemen in their attacks. I *think* you lose some when you burst run from those mobs that just spawned on you too.

But to answer your question, no, I've never seen it affected by normal crafting activities.
