Maximum damage, and minimum damage are good for most every powerup. The general exception is that for laser weapons minimum damage is worthless, the improvement is too little.

Speed
pistol - not very useful
carbine - useful
rifle - VERY useful

HAM costs are targeted at specific weapons and to varying degrees

pistol - health or action (not very useful)
carbine - action (useful)
rifle - mind (useful)

Take a careful look at weapons you find on vendors and in bazars. I've noticed that bonus "to hit" are more useful the larger the modifyer is (because they are percentage based). The usefullness depends on the gun you apply it to.

Mininum range "to hit"
pistol - not very useful
carbine - very useful
rifle - useful (slow refire makes it less useful)

Ideal range "to hit"
pistol - useful (usually +5 and better)
carbine - worthless (usually around +0)
rifle - not very useful (usually very low bonus or penalty)

Max range "to hit"
pistol - VERY useful
carbine - useful
rifle - not very useful

Actual range depends on the weapon, but in general:
pistol - VERY useful
carbine - useful
rifle - BAD for some, somewhat useful for the rest

I like powerups that extend ideal range, especially if it is the secondary effect. I would pay for powerups that offered 31% max damage 15% ideal range. They'd be good for certain mobs.

My laser rifle has a base ideal range of 60 m, which is exactly the range that some mobs are able to detect me. If I can go prone at 69 m (60*1.15) and still have the ideal range modifier on my rifle, I can pick them off with one-shot-kills before they detect me.

Can a powerup that increases the ideal range alson increase max range of a weapon? Because my laser maxes out at 64.

Yes ideal range of a weapon cannot be increased past 64m in my experience.

I've been a supplier of powerups for a while now, and I have found that they are being used much more widespread, but only certain kinds, which is nowmaking me to believe that some of them aren't useful, and more or less are just a waste of resources.

Basically, my question to the Artisan Community is, are the bonuses to Ranged Attack and Ideal Range, basically anything that has to do with "to hit" and "range," worth even having at all? Everyone either wants HAM pool costs lowered, more damage, or speed. Range just doesn't seem like a factor...should these bonuses be eliminated when crafting powerups? ESPECIALLY when we are dealing with things like melee combat? (The fact that there is an "ideal range" at all is confusing to me anyway)

I think it's just easier to see the advantage for HAM reducers, speed and damage powerups. Ideal range, I am not even sure if that increases your ideal range, increases the damage dealt at that range or what--and I think most fighters arein the same boat. As for point blank, if I'm fighting anything point blank I'm probably going to die, as a rifleman.A 33% bonus isn't going to save my hide. However I have been asked to make these powerups a few times. They can be incredibly useful to certain fighters who fight a certain way. Personally I believe most fighters wouldn't miss them if they were taken out, but that's strictly my own opinion.
