Yea SOE screwed up royally on vehicles. Not one factory part, 2 friggin metals,, god even generic at that. One stat needed hmmm sooo any copper, steel, iron, AL basicly. Even using crappy grind metal really doesnt make that big of difference,, soo what you just have to pay to repair it slighty sooner?? Ive been driving my land speeder for days now and its lost next to nothing maybe 50 points and i think i was exp out to 67%.
The could have made speed, and manuverabitly exped along with damage resistance. Added factory parts, leathery hide for seats, other types of metals like copper for the computers or Al for the frame.Lubricating oil for moving parts ect.
With a schem like it is doesnt it make master artisan look like a friggin JOKE ???? Some master item. God even energy distributers are a bigger pain in the arse to make.
They could have had armorers make the segs for the body ham and resistance, composite segs like on the droids.
droid enginers could have made the computer to operate it they are the only ones that can make computers.
tailors to make the seats, they are the only ones that i know of that can make seats now right?
Arcitects to make the turbines thats a schem they allready have but i would have added another type and have it directly related to the top speed of the vehicle
and the MASTER ARTISAN to assemble the final product with a few of there parts, energy distributers, and control units those are obvious choices consitering they are parts of vehicles in RL. Add in more metals, chems, and lubes, and then play with the stats, you want strait line speed or highly manuverable or maybe a little of both, or maybe you want a slow tank type that there would be no way to die in it,.
instead what do we get,.. basicly a completly generic vehicle that everyone leave parked all over the place. sure vehicles are great i spend tons less time now running from place to place but come on they could have been soo much more interesting.
How about adding scaners to a land speeder for those servey missions? or blasters on my speeder bike for bullseye'in womp rats? If you didnt get experiance from it i dont know how you could call it an exploite, especially if you made the corpse unharvestable.
Great JOB SOE what a great way to ruin what could have been a great new craftable item and turned it into the next grind item that anyone will use to make it to the elite lvl 2 generic metals, wake up and smell the coffee I really hope you dont screw up this bad on starships.

The devs have said they want to go back and address vehicles again in the future. A more complex system perhaps or more complex vehicles. The vehicles we do have are a matter of getting something basic into the game that the player base can use vs waiting 6 months or more for a more comprehensive system to come out. Personally I think what is currently in game is just fine as a start.
kisedd is right, they indicated a want to implement these now, maybe as xmas presents, or just to help ease the pain of all the bugs that are rampant right now. they indicated that this is the 'first wave' of vehicles and that future ones will be more complex to make. as far as your landspeeder not taking much damage, well its not supposed to, its the rugged off road vehicle, on teh other hand the swoop bike is very brittle and i have to reapair mine two/three times a day at least.
think of it this way:
landspeeder=for those who harvest materials
speeder bike= for those who want to move around fast that cant afford a money sink by repairing daily
swoop= for those were money is a non issue and want to go as fast and as far as they can

Quite so. People don't expect Bone Armour to need fifteen different types of Bone, six sets of four identical factory crate Master Artisan Componnents and an option Emperor-drop loot item, do they? These are just the entry level vehicles and most certainly should NOT be a luxury item. Otherwise, how do you expect anyone to be able to get hold of the 'real' vehciles when they show up?
People are being way too short-term about these silly little dirt-bikes, I think.
ohh belive me when ships come out and they need tons of stuff ill be soo stoked you wont belive,, the more complicated the better.. I almost want to start making weapons just to make rocket launchers lol But instead im gonna make bio clothing a better fit for someone who makes armor. I do know that this is just the first launch and im sure it has a ton to do with that holiday with the guy dressed like a Coca Cola Can,, yea peeps thats exactly why santa wears red and white, thank your people back in i think the 20's for a holiday campain to get you to drink there sweet syrup liquid.
Even still though they could have made them have some sorta factory parts.. I was soo looking forward to making these things and was just soo disapointed. Heck i have a crate of 30 since the day they came out, i have given 2 away,, noone wants um cause they were produced so easily they caped in about 8 hours.. Ohh well what can ya do.. Ill just keep my fingers crossed on ships
As the things are now they are soo vanilla, I would love it if the manuverablity, speed, and durra where all exped,, soo you could drive a tank, or have a strait liner, or maybe something that manuveres like a slot car.. or some sorta varations of the above. Ya my post is a huge rant but ive been reading rants since june i thought it was time for me to rant,, BTW when is tantle getting fixed, ohh wait wrong forum : )-~
