Hi I am a scout/ranger who needs polymer for my traps, but have no idea where to look for it, inorganic chemical?
The quality of polymer i need can be very low as far as I know.
I dont need it in vast quantities either.
Can anybody advise me which type of artisan to go to for it? what I am looking for etc.
I am only 5 weeks into playing swg and still am pretty clueless about a lot of things so your advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

It's an inorganic chemical, yes. Your best place to look for it would probably be on the Bazaar. Most types of resources end up there, under the resource container heading.

Yes the Bazaar is probably you best bet for small cheap quantities. You can also look on the planetary map under vendors - resources for bigger suppliers.
Also note that when you are looking for polymer on the bazaar or on a vendor, the resource containers are named "Inert Petrochemical" - you have to actually view the details of the resource to find out that it is actually Polymer (Inert Petrochemical can also be Lubricating Oil). I remember when I first started playing SWG i had a lot of trouble finding polymer for this reason, lol.

a couple of things to note here. if you have artisan skill you can survey for the polymer using a chemical survey tool. also when you are crafting your traps, if you scroll down on the first crafting screen you will see some % numbers. ive never made a trap but it would look something like this (note this is not what it actually says just an example off the top of my head):
66% effectiveness
33% range
also somewhere in there it will tell you which resource stat will give you the 66% and 33% like overal qaulity or unit toughness..
this is important because the higher the number for that stat on the resource, the better the trap will work.
example: you need polymer with unit toughness for the 66% and hide with overal quality for the 33%, if you have polymer with 900+ UT and hide with 900+ OQ, the trap will do more damage/ have further range than the same trap using say 700 UT and 700 OQ. so in effect, the better the quality of the materials you use, the better the trap will be.

Thank you for your responses, that was exactly the kind of info I was after.
I found the polymer on the bazaar and have made the "Adhesive Mesh" trap, it immobilises an animal which is really useful to me.
